Masih Sherafatian

Dr Masih Sherafatian is a computational biologist with a background in cell and molecular biology, specialising in cancer research. He is currently pursuing postdoctoral studies focused on genomic data analysis, including Single-cell Multiome and Whole Genome Sequencing. During his PhD in cancer cell biology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the University of Melbourne, Masih investigated the cell of origin of serous ovarian cancer. He identified a novel stem cell as the cell of origin of this cancer, leading to a new stem cell model for how ovarian cancer starts and progresses.
Masih has a strong background in bioinformatics and has published his research in academic journals. Additionally, he has served in peer-review roles for scientific journals. He is passionate about integrating computational analysis with biological insights to advance our understanding of cancer biology.
